Default Got in a few passes last night...

It felt good to be back at the track, since I hadn't had any seat time in my car since early December.

The DA calculates to ~780ft. last night. I haven't really made any changes to the car since last year except fixing a few things here and there. I do still have an oil leak from a crack in the back of the block, but I managed to rig up a "diaper" to keep the oil from dripping. I just have to keep a check on the oil level, and change out the diaper every few passes.

Due to the crowds last night, I only got in three passes. The car wouldn't hook on t-brake launches, as my 60' times were 1.40 on both t-brake launches. I did one footbrake pass, and did manage a 1.38 60', which resulted in a 10.14 @ 131mph pass. Not too bad for a car with a cracked engine block and running through mufflers.

I'm hopeful that ARE will finish up my new block shortly, so I can get the car to what I consider 100%, but in the meantime I think I can keep on racing it if I keep an eye on things. I'll be at SLP Day in Orlando this weekend, and then the ET bracket points series racing starts up (at Gainesville) the following weekend.

Hopefully I can poke around with the suspension some more and get things right. I can put everything back the way I had it, but I'm trying to greatly reduce the wheelstands this year...

was good to be back at the track eh? Sucks about all the ricers being there, wish I could have seen more than one pass you made. Against Butch was unreal! You think you have traction problems! Looking forward to Orlando on Saturday!

Good to see you hanging in there George. A lot of guys, myself included, would probably have given up with what you've had to go through with your car. You should be proud of what you've accomplished.

I almost spewed my beer out of laughter when I read that your engine had a diaper. LOL! Good to see you racing again and that your engine got some "runs" in

Sweet!!!

A 1.38 off the footbrake is pretty darn awesome.

It will be intersesting once you put in a fixed block to see if your bigger valves will help at the track since that would be the only other change right?

PSJ, yes, the only real change was the switch to larger intake valves. The car has definately picked up a little compared to runs in similar weather last year... I can't expect it to run the same numbers at 780ft. DA as it did in December (~-1500DA). I think high 10.0's will be the norm once I get the suspension adjusted right.

That motor with stock crank is amazing. When you ran that 9 second pass it just shows what can be done with out motors. That was NA and stock crank which is flyin for almost any car let alone a new fuel injected one.

George lives a tenth at a time...

For that tenth of a second or less, he's free....nothing else matters
