Default Paging Madman

Brian, if I remember correctly, aren't you running a 29.5x10.5 ET Drag on your black car?

How much clearance do you have around the tire? I have just over 1" in front of the tire (which should be plenty), but it's kind of tight in the back (~5/8"). You should need a little more room for growth than me, since your car traps almost 20mph more than mine, but I wonder if I need to do some minor trimming before heading to the track this afternoon.

Some minor rubbing in the rear shouldn't hurt anything, since it's just the plastic bumper back there, but if it's going to be a lot of rubbing, I'll get the saw out and make a little more room...

Yes I run those tires. I have a 1" in the front and then on the rear I trimmed 2" of metal behind the bumper cover and the trimmed the bumper cover 1". At speed the tire rubs a little bit on the plastic but thats all. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

did you do any body work on the front of the quarter panel, or did you just move the rearend back enough that you only had to modify the rear?

also are you guys running Ws, or just regular 10.5s? thanks

Thanks, Brian...

Chevyguy, I haven't touched the body in front of the tire, but I did section the rear bumper cover for clearance awhile back. I tried to make enough room to fit a 30" tall tire, but it's difficult without actually having a tire to test fit (but it looks like I may have gotten it close enough for now).

These are 29.5x10.5 ET Drags, not the W tire...
