Default 8000+ rpm guys inside please

I can't keep the belt on at all. I am shifting right at 8000 rpm, and usually sling the belt after the 1-2 shift. What are you guys using for a belt tensioner? Is the Katech piece about the only option for us?

Yes it is, but this is an all out drag motor. Made 5 passes shifting at 8000 yesterday without a hitch.

I'm shifting at 7800, and crossing the traps about the same.

No belt issues so far, ATI damper and solid tensioner.

Seems like anything below about 7400 it would be fine, but above that, and it would either walk, or completely fall off.

We use a Thunder Racing tensioner (very similar to the Katech) on Angie's car. Shifting at 7900 with the revlimiter at 8200.

Y do you need a belt on a all out drag car. Just get an electric water pump and be done with it. No belts no altenater no power steering.

It's not an all out drag car, otherwise there wouldn't be a belt.

I have had mine to 7500 with no belt issues, Katech tensioner, no PS pump. An alternator is a nice thing to have when you have big fuel pumps and electric fans/waterpump. Dont need a generator at the track

Like Jason said we are turning 8200 with no problem with a solid tensioner and stock tensioner pulley. Here is a link to our solid tensioners.Click Here.
