Will I be ok to run a lugnut with a shank length of .746"?

Will I be ok to run a lugnut with a shank length of .746"?
Sorry to bring this issue up so much, but Ive been hassling with it for the past month. The lugnuts are the only thing that is holding me up for putting the car completely back together. I found a 1.365" long shank, but its .049" too long and I really didnt want to cut them unless I had to. So the next shortest one is a .746". I didnt know if it was too short. I dont wanna run the risk of it shearing off a stud. The lugnuts that I used to run with my stock rear end metric threads had a 1" shank length. Will I be ok/safe?

Mcgard sells a 1.0 shank length lug nut, but it's a special order (Summit Racing).
When i'm running slicks I use 1.365 cut down to fit, but my street tires i use the .746's. I would never run the .746's with slick's.
What size are your wheel studs? 12mm or 1/2?

I checked McGard's site and I never came across an open end lugnut with a 1" shank. They only offer .490", .746", and a 1.365". I even spoke to McGard about custom making them, but couldnt do it unless I bought 600 sets. My wheel studs are 1/2" x 20 x 3".

I went ahead and bought the 1.365" lugnuts, however, it came with washers thicker than I thought, which is a good thing. So the lugnut did not go all the way through, but its really really close. I just tighten them down and Ive been running them like that for a few days.

Jeramy and others whom read this,
As discussed many times on the phone to Jeramy, we do not advise using >~1.310 shank lugs. We strongly advise against using these as the conical shaped washers compress(like a lock washer) as well as material compression occurs over time. This will create a scenerio in which the rim will not be correctly attached to the rim. For anyone not using the proper lugs, your taking chances that are not going to be welcome.
Since there is not a manufacture that supplies OPEN ended lugs to work with our LS1 style custom rims, we can supply our customers with a proper length lug upon request.
If one doesn't want to purchase the lugs we carry, you can cut/grind your own longer ones... If someone has custom lugs that they specifically want to use, we can also mill down them to the correct length.
Just as any manufacture suggest their own shank style lugs for their particular drag rim, we advise the use of ours also.
Please e-mail or call us if anyone has specific questions or concerns pertaining to rims or lugs.
