Default Best Launch Method for M6 w/ ET Streets.....

I just bought some MT ET Street 26x11.50 15's on some 15x10 prostars and it will be the first time I launch on ET streets. What's the best method of launching? My suspension mods are BMR Boxed SFC, BMR STB, BMR LCA's, Spohn Relocation Brackets, BMR Adjustable PHR, Hypercoils, Koni/Bilsteins, McLeod Kevlar/Organic Clutch with Billet Flywheel, 12 bolt w/ 4.11's. Thanks in advance

I was thinking I'll start at 5k and then see what happens. I was thinking about getting the hals, but I've heard that few things about them, I've heard that they wear out by a year or two, and they are pretty bouncy on the street, is this true? My Y pipe hangs kinda low and I've heard that even on the highest setting, that they are still pretty soft and I don't want to destroy my Y pipe. What Hals do you have? Also, can I run my hypercoils all the way around if I still use the Hals all the way around? Thanks for the replies guys and keep em coming

I have a line lock and do a good smokey burnout, release the line lock and spin out of the box up to the line. I launch the car at 6000 and just side step the clutch. I have the same ET Streets and wheels you have.

As for the Hals, I ove mine and the work great after 2 years and lots of passes. I run them all at 5 on the street and have very little bounce. When I race I set the ffonts at 2 and the rears at 7 and 8. If I forget to reset the rears to 5 I get lots of bounce on the street.

Man, I just don't like the thought of holding it at 6k and dumping it, I will try it and see what happens. Anyone think it's worth it to invest in a 2 step? I see a lot of turbo cars using it but would it makes sense for me to have one? I really like the look oh my hypercoils on my car, can I still use hypercoils on a 4's and also use the hals?

You can use what ever spring you want with the Hals. You wil need to modify the front spring seat for your springs. Thunder used to sell the modified perches. They may still.

As for the 2 step, I wil let ya know. Just got an email today from Harlan that mine shipped. It took over a month but looks like I wil get it. I should have results from the 2 step in a fw weeks. I have dumped the clutch with the shift light on. No big deal except for the hold on factor. Don't worry about that. I have done it 10 times in the past 2 weeks. The Moser is holding it.

I do a monster burnout and then drop my clutch at 7,000-7,200 rpm.

Get a 2 step for sure!!! Best $$ I've ever spent on my car. Seriously. Takes all the work/inconsistency out of launching a manual trans car.

When I got my ET Streets, I started at around 4500 and worked up to 6000 to get used to the launches.

Have fun!

My first trip on ET streets was a little unnerving. You will get more side to side wiggle than with radials. The lower the air pressure the more the wiggle.

Nothing I am not used to now but that first trip was indead a trip.

the rear will float some on the big end. jsut don't try to compensat for it, keep the sterring wheel straight, its not the car moving, its just the tires wiggling a bit, you try and compensate and you'll be heading for the wall real fast.

HARDTOPSS.-i run the hal's at #3front and #4rear and i hooked like mad. on the street i run them both at #6 and they feel near stock. my bud is on his 4th year and they have not died on him. i'm still on the stock front spring and my car dont bounce all over, they feel great and work great too.with the hal's i'm also able to run more air in my m&h tires so it does'nt get loose on the topend.

yea I've been warned about the wiggle when once you cross the traps, but other then that, I feel pretty confident that I can do this. If I use my Hypercoils with the Hal's, will it hurt me at the strip? I still have my stock springs, plus some V6 springs out of my old 99 that I may use for the rear if I need to. Thanks for all the help guys

don't use V6 springs in the rear, stock springs are your best bet for a car getting launched aggressivly on a decent tire.

If you are going to put hals in the front, run their springs, you will not see nearly the full benefit of the shock if you do not.
