I went to home depot last night and got some of their boating carpet. the whole 6 X14 roll weighs 15 pounds. and it only cost like 60 dollars with the glue. I may be able to post pics later

Back when I was a kid, my dad and his buddies used that cheap outdoor carpeting that shed like crazy in their bracket cars. It looked really fake too....oh, the memories But at least they used black and not the grass green color that was available....Dad's red '68 Nova would have looked really funny with green carpet

We have that in a few cars and it looks good in my opinion. Expecially if you cut all the brakets out of the car then it looks so smooth and nice. No holes in the carpet and is much lighter.

I know the stuff you're talking about and I'm going the same route. This isn't the shed like a cat carpet, just a very low pile, lightweight option.

Got the same stuff too. It's used a lot on speaker boxes. Sad thing is, the glue I use will weigh more than the carpet.

I did use the glue I bought from the depot, frankly I hated it so I redid everything using black interior screws, much much nicer, cant even tell where the screws are. Hopefully i will be done with it tonight, so i can get some pics up.

Cj, why would anyone go and hack all the brackets off one of these new f- bodies

I've used the roll stuff from Autozone, and even with spray adhesive I have tended to kick up the stuff in the footwell, so it's time for me to get drag carpet.

I am thinking of doing just that to our race car as well. It would help keep her warm during those cold winter nights in the stagging lanes. I will also grind off all the un-needed brackets from the inside. What do you guys do about the sail panel areas? Keep the OEM stuff?
