Default how to shave off 2 tenths?

i'm going back to the track Friday and last saturday my best run was 1.805 60ft, 12.29 ET at 114 Trap, I dont think the track prep will be any better this Friday, but other then launching does anyone have and tricks of the trade to shave off 2 tenths? i've already taken some stuff out on the inside of the car ,IE passenger seat, back seats.

any help is appreciated.

well...i took out my air conditioner=35lbs air system=14lbs and remover the front sway bar 14.5lbs. that 55lbs took 1.9 tenths off my car and it didn't cost me a dime. if you get those 60's down that would also be good. goodluck bro.

i had taken out my sway bar last Friday as well. I still have my stock TB, sooooo i called up M. Shaner today and he's gonna try and have a S3 ready for me to pick up by Friday, Hopefully that w/ a better 60ft will get me to my 11.99 mark.

What is your 60' time? I was having the same problem. I ran a 12.14@114. I lowered my launch rpm from 2200rpm to 1400rpm and ran a 11.90@115. I am running BFG drag radials. I tried M/T ET streets and lost 2 mph and 1 tenth. My car is an automatic though. I pulled the a/c belt, put on the short belt, and removed the air filter. Picked up 1.3 mph.

I've done that and didn't see much of an earth shattering difference.

Get a 1.69 -1.72 60' I bet you see a 12.00 atleast. Stick an ET street on there, might lose some MPH but you will pick up your ET due to the better 60'.

If you are running a stock crank pulley you will need a 56" belt. You can get one at autozone. Just tell them you need a 56" 6 rib belt. When you install it you will need to remove the lower alternator bolt. Now this is just temporary. Don't drive around permantly with the bolt out. I don't recommend the E/T streets. The gain you will make in 60' you will lose in top end mph. That is just my experience though. Maybe I just gave up on them too fast.

The belt will rub the lower alternator bolt and turn it from a 6 rib belt into a 4 rib belt. Also, if yours is an automatic the tranny cooler lines are held in place by a bracket attached to the lower alternator bolt. You have to remove this bracket and pull the tranny lines down with a zip tie or whatever.

if i remember, i think i unbolted the bolt to get the bracket off then i zip tied the lines and put the bolt back in. I can tell you I drive around on the shortbelt and theres no sign of it hitting that bolt.
