Default Burnout with Et Streets?

I have the 26x11.5x17 ET Streets. First time at the track with them I'm having a hard time keeping the car straight during the burnout. The rear keeps sliding out to the left on me. Any advise on what I can do/try to keep it straight? TIA

I am assuming you have a line lock? If not, get one! Make sure you start out in water, and get them spinning fast right away.

The same thing happens to me if I dont have them spinning fast enough, they start to hook up and the car turns.

Regardless, you should only make a very brief burnout, just to clean them off and heat them a little.

I don't have a line lock yet. Anyone recommend a good line lock? Do they work with ABS?

I'll get them spinning faster sooner, because like you said the tires start to hook. Thanks for the info.

Make sure you have the same air pressure in both tires. Having differing pressures made my car go violently to the right.

I have the Thunder Racing line lock kit and the car stays pretty straight. Do you pull through the water or drive around? Maybe some water on the front tires?

What kind of 60ft times are you pulling? I did better on my BFG DR's than these things. Best I could get was a 1.75, I've pulled 1.65's in the past.

Yes.... we've been manufacturing them far longer then SLP's kit not to mention our kits are superior to their "bare bone" setup. Better price-pointed to boot:-)

Check our site for comparison. www.sjmmanufacturinginc.homestead.com

There's actually three different designs you can choose which we manufacture.

Best 60' so far has been 1.89. Will look into getting the linelock. I couldn't even get the tires to really smoke before the rear end starts moving out. Since I don't have skinnies I go around the waterbox and back up into it. Time for some more practice and a line lock. Thanks for the help.

Pull into the water box and roll tires over in the water. Once they are wet then do your burnout.

A line lock is not going to keep you straight during a burnout. You are wasting your money. It's really not necessary in an A4 car. Equal tire pressure and holding the wheel straight are your first steps. After that, look into any suspension issues if you have aftermarket parts.

That's your problem, going around the box, I had the same problem with my ET streets. I went around the box, well when I went around, my passenger rear got wetter then the driver's side and when I backed up into the box, dumped it, and the *** end swung to the left and did a 90* turn facing my opponent! Try pulling straight through the water box, you shouldn't have a problem, good luck man
