BTW: If you take the carpet out of the car and stick it in the sun. The sound deadening will come off much easier.
Also, in the rear hatch well there is a black sticky matt over where the muffler would go. Get out your gasket scraper and go to town for another 3lbs of removal. While your at it you might as well get out the spot weld drill bit and remove any unesessary bracket in the car (rear seat brackets and seat belt brackets).

Thanks for the idea about the mat over the muffler in the rear hatch, 3 more lbs will be gone soon.

SUX2BU, I'd like to see pics of your carpet and to anyone else who doesn't have the Speed Inc. or Year One. I went to Home Depot to look at the cheap stuff that many have recommended, but the stuff that I found looked like crap. Not sure if its the stuff that those were suggesting, but I didnt see anything else that came close to what they described. I would like to shed some weight myself. I've taken the backing off my stock carpet, but I know there's weight to be saved with a lightweight version.

i think it looks pretty god for $20 and by far the lightest i've ever seen. It litterally only weighs a couple lbs.
i think i used the wrong adheisieve and so it's come loose in a few spots. my friend used a different adheisive and his was a bitch to tear back out. i may redo it when i pull my seats out to swiss cheeze them.

i have the speed inc carpet, and mine looks like ****. it was supposed to be molded, but it was completely flat when i layed it on the garage floor. no matter what i did, it didn't conform to the shape of the floor. i'm waiting to here from 1320 to see how theirs is molded. i have a 6 point and no backseat, but i still want it to look nice.
