Default Need advice on a roll-cage

Does anyone have a rollcage from A&W race cars. They have an ad in GM High Tech. Are there any other cages other than Wolfe. And what about the swing out door bars (are they legal). I'm going to go with a weld in cage to be legal for around 10.5-10.7 in the 1/4. Any advice for what I need to be legal at these speeds would be appreciated.

I have never heard of A&W, but I know about S&W Racecars. We have a Jeg's weld-in 10-point kit. You need to trim it to fit just right. Swing outs are legal if you use approved swing out hardware.

is there a reason for not using Wolfe when everyone i've ever seen post about them is positive? just curious, because as of right now i'm possibly going to get one, but leaning a lot harder towards having one built for the car for tightest fit possible.

thanks,
Dave

I wasn't saying that I didn't want to use a Wolfe, I was just wondering about my options. S&W advertises an 8 point cage for only $149.95. I know it isn't crome-moly or anything for this price, but I was just wondering how it fit. I will probably be placing my order for a Wolfe in a few days. Thanks

If you don't mine the suggestion...think more into 4130 before throwing down the cash for the mild steel. You'll be scraping for that 20+lbs later on. I refused to consider with my first little project and was kicking myself for it later on when I hit a few lbs shy of a 10 sec. slip plateau. It's a good investment considering what it'd cost to drop that 20+lbs in the future.

I ordered the cm 6point wolfe bar today. After some of the trouble I went through to shave a few pounds here and there, I decided to spend the extra cash and get cm. Thanks for the advice.

I just got done installing a S&W cage in my car. The fit is awesome. I have about 1/4 inch between the hoop and roof and about the same on the side panels. Could have gone tighter but I had to be able to get all the interior back in. I don't know how it compares to a Wolfe cage as far as ease of install though. I did have to do a little cutting and bending, but nothing real serious. Definetely worth the price savings!
