10 point cage question!

What if you have a 10 point cage and you need to remove the dash...what do you do? Especially if the cage goes through the dash?

from all the pics i've seen, the dash goes in front of the bars and can be removed at any time. for those who have them, am i correct?

but if the bars go in front of the dash how can you pull the dash out...wouldnt the bars stop the dash and be in the way

Most cages the bars go behind the dash from what I' ve seen and them some go in front. Mine go behind the dash which I personally like better than in front of the dash...but to each his own. As far as how you remove your dash once you put the bars in front of it??? I'm not really sure you will be able to take it out completely. I would recommend the bars behind the dash.

that's what i had said actually. i said the dash goes in front of the bars, not the other way around because then it wouldn't be "through the dash". thanks for clarifying though.

if you bend the bars around the dash, as in don't put them trhough it, that dash realistically isn't ever coming out again.

I installed my bars behind the dash with approx a 1" gap on my '84 Camaro. It's just enough room to remove the dash. I was concerned that I would have a problem making it look good with the bars going through the dash. This was my first full cage installation.

I was planning on getting the bars that go in front of the dash rather than through the dash anyways. I just got to thinking, what if in the future I wanted to get rid of some of the stuff behind the dash (i think there are some AC components behind it) and was trying to think how to get the dash out!

So pretty much, once that cage goes in, that dash isnt coming back out! Is there anyway that you can reach everything behind the dash once the cage is in?
