Default will 3.73's help me?

I have a 224/cammed full weight 99z. I have a 3200 conveter and 3.23 gears. Do you people think if I installed some 3.73's would it drop my 1/4 time?

My fastest time was a 12.5@110 with a bad tune. I am wondering will the 3.73's drop me down a few tenths?

A bigger stall will help more On the gears going from 3.23 to 3.73 didn't help me any, but I still have the stock cam so their may be some gains with the 3.73's and your cam

TTT for ya.

The gain will not be very noticable. Go with a bigger stall. Also look into a better tune. Do you have all the supporting mods to compliment the cam? Your times seem a little off.

all free mods, stock Ls1 intake and TB, mac-midlengths/oryp. I've seen people with 3200 vigilante do pretty good 60ft. my 60ft are 1.76 on 20lbs of air on nittos.

you can't be running in your 11.4's with a stock cam car My best 60 ft. is a 1.76 with the 3200 vigilante with about 18-20lbs of air on nittos.

Are you stalling that vig up or flashing it off the line? I would save your money and get some suspension parts and a retune.

before my cam and ls6 intake I was running consistent 12.8s with 3.73s and a 3200 stall 60' were 1.9. Put the ls6 intake on and I dropped to 12.3s and 60' 1.7. I guess I finally hit that good combo. Weather conditions were similar on both runs! I think once you start getting into mid 12s, the ls1 intake becomes very restrictive and really holds you back. I would look into that if I were you. Then maybe a bigger stall.

yea there are quite a few cars SI NA in the 11s. Friend of mine, Silent But Violent, ran 11.3s all day long on stock internals na! Magnus cut a 10.9 SI NA.
...amazing what weight reduction and the right combo can do!

Thanks for the input. How does your car run on top end with the 3.73's?
