Just installed autometer quik lite shift light

Just installed autometer quik lite shift light I installed the autometer quick lite last night. I also used the RPM module.
It was not a very hard install especially since I knew the location of my tach wire. (Did a window switch install not long ago.)
One tip I have for those that do this is the RPM module must be set to 4 Cylinder for it to work properly. I had it at 8 cyl and it did not light up at the desired rpm.
Now I am wondering if I want to shift at say 6000 rpm should I set the light up for 5800 or 5600 or right at 6000? My trans is th350.

It all depends on how quickly you can react to the light. If the transmission is shifting lazy, count on setting your shift light about 200rpm lower than your desired shift point, then add 100-200 more rpm depending on how soon you can react.
When I first put in my shift light it took me about 200 rpm to react to it. As I started to get used to the light I took it down to 100rpm before my desired shift point. I have a manual transmission so I do not have to worry about a lazy shift.
