How does that compare price-wise to the kit you got from Strange, Kurt?

Brady,

That is the normal Strange F-Body brake kit. What they are not showing you is the cap screws that you have to put through the hub. It still uses a spindle that bolts into the knuckle. But it still uses their own wheel hub assembly instead of a spindle mounted wheel.

You're right Steve, I read it too fast and didn't look closely enough at the pic.

Parker Chassis built a setup for Ray Sanchez that uses a Santhuff strut with a coil over shock. I'm sure you could make the A-Arms and get the strut then run either a stock style shock and spring or something like his. This was in the GMHTP article a few months back. Although his car only uses a single piston brake.

Brady,
What we bought was a spindle mount kit. It was around 8-900.

I have a set of front spindles like the ones on Ray Sanchez's car. They sell for $1100.00. They will loose 40 lbs between brakes and spindles.

wouldnt there be less rotating mass with a spindle mount style versus a traditional style also?

A little less in the rotating aspect. But you also save a bit in unsprung weight as well. There would be no hub, lugnuts or studs spinning. Otherwise there still is a rotor and a rim, albeit the rim is a little lighter.

so the spindle mounts aren't "stock style", and thus aren't legal for such a class, correct? also, can they handle mild street duty such as short trips to a local show? kind of like how most say drag brakes are good for.

thanks,
Dave

The spindle mts would definitely be fore a race car. Dont try them on a street car.
