Default Inner Fenders on T/A

I'm working on some weight reduction mods and finished up the front bumper support removal..Do I need to reinstall the inner fenders if its a strickly strip car ? BTW it took all of about an hour and a half to remove the bumper and windshield washer tank and put everything back together..

Brian,
Hey man how's it going ? Yes its the ones in the wheel wells....

The motor blew a head gasket on the #7 cylinder and it looked like detonation got it..Since the motor was out of the car Jason and John at Thunder freshened it up..Here are the specs..
Motor Built by Jason Reibert and John at Thunder Racing
- Diamond 3.905" bore pistons (11.0:1 compression)
- Manley 6.125" connecting rods (LS1 On-Center)
- stock, polished crank
- JE 3.905" rings (1.5/1.5/3mm; standard tension)
- Federal Mogul bearings

- GTP stage 2 5.3 truck heads (2.02/1.57 valves; milled .030")
- Crane dual springs/Titanium retainers
- TR 7.350" pushrods

- Thunder Racing 236/242 .602/.610 114 lsa/110 ICL

Fast LSX 90mm Intake/90mm TPIS Throttle Body/Pace 85mm MAF
ASP Crank Pulley
Magnacor ignition wires
NGK TR-6 Plugs

Coated Hooker Long Tube headers /Dynomax Bullets
Geoff Skinner custom tune in the PCM By Thunder Racing (Speed Density)

I've put about 15 passes on the car since the first of the year with a 11.12 @ 120 best at 3540 lbs..I'm running ET Drags now 26//10/15's and been working on getting the suspension working..

I killed a built 4L60E and have since put the original tranny back in the car with very good results..I know the car has a high 10 in it just got to figure out how to get it to 60'..

Only thing I noticed after taking them out was a little more fender wiggle on the big end at the track. Plus, if you street drive after.. you get a bunch of junk in the door springs and engine compartment.

I put mine back in on Monday, for my Cali trip.

I don't know Rodney your still pretty quick..I might have to take alot of weight out of the car to catch you..

Over the next couple of days I'm going to try and take about 100 lbs out of the car from different places..And yes since I bought a very good used truck and new car hauler the car isn't street driven much if any anymore..

Hey I looked at your car pretty close at the shootout so I got some good ideas..Pretty much today I'm going to get the rear bumper support out , door bars and passenger side air bag..

I'm also going to call a couple of places today about a lexan rear window replacement..I looked at a couple of sites but they want to sell a complete kit but I just want the rear glass..

Anyone know of a specific shop that sells a preformed glass for the rear hatch ??

But I just don't think just yet I'm going to give up the A/C ..Down here in the great State of Louisiana I still use it coming back up the return road and help clear the windsheild on those hot and muggy nights at the tracks..

But the picture of your engine bay does look alot cleaner without all the other stuff in the way...

Dunno about you V8 guys.... but on the V6 set up... when I removed my inner fenderwells I exposed my fuel lines to possible outside influence of rocks etc flicking up from the tire..... mine run up the inside of the drivers side fender.....

But... I don't have an LS1... so I don't know.....if this is a problem... just cover them with some type of thick rubber hose...

I took everything to work tonight and weighed the bumper supports both front and rear, both door bars , windshield washer tank, fog lights, passenger side air bag, inner fenders and a handfull of bolts and nuts that didn't make it back on the car..A total of 96lbs taken out of stuff you don't really see...
