Default Good idea or bad idea?

I am doing a solid roller setup that should spin to 8000 rpms. With a 28" tire and a 3.73 gear, the car pulls to 179 mph in 4th gear (I'm keeping my 6 speed). With a 3.42 gear, it pulls to 150 in 3rd gear. I want to be able to play around on the street with as minimal taction issues as possible, and I will be on et streets on the street. I'm hoping to trap around 145, so would it be a good idea or bad idea to spray of the line enough to compensate for the torque difference between the 3.73 and the 3.42? I would barely use 4th gear in the quater with a 3.73 gear, so I figure only shifting twice would be efficient. Not to mention, it would be a window switch, 75 off the line then probably 125 the rest of the way. What do you'll think?

I think that if your car is actually going to trap 145 in the 1/4, then you shouldn't **** around with it on the street!!!! But that's just my personal opinion, too each his own!!!! And for best performance, go with a gear/tire combo that will be close to maxing out 4th going through the traps.

What tire height measurement are you using to calculate your max speed in each gear? Keep in mind that a 28 inch tall slick grows quite a bit more than a similar sized et street. I'd keep the 3.73's-179 mph in fourth is plenty fast for highway blasts-too fast even. If you really have a death wish; slam fifth-I've had to do it a few times on the street (4.56, 28x10.5 mt et drag).

With the kind of horsepower you are talking about (guessing 8-900rwhp) hooking on the street with a t56 is going to be a problem; regardless of what gear you are running. I'd try a progressive controller for the n20.
