Default How Fast?

alright i have an 83 monte carlo ss. we built a 350 that produced 449 hp at the flywheel and 446 lbs of tq. we put it in with a 2 speed powerglide tranny with a 5500 stall (5200 true stall). were running 4.56 gears with slicks. were at about 3700 #s guessing. what kind of 1/4 mile times can i expect.

If you are putting down about 380rwhp and depending on how well the car hooks probably high 11's in the 115mph range.

I don't think I would have put a glide in that car, your not making enough power for that race weight, even with a 5500 stall it maybe kind of a slug off the line.

In any case, we get these posts here alot and alot of members will yell at you about asking "Guess my ET" etc, but I will take a stab and say you will be lucky to turn low-mid 12s with a 449 FHWP 3700# car, I say 12.40s average..I think the glide will hurt your 60' some and reflect on your ET.

well im not real sure on the weight thats just a guess we took everything we could out of the car to lighten it up. we have a friend with the same car same horsepower but less tq with a 350 turbo tranny running 12 flat. were guessing right around there but we will just have to see.
