Default Simpson Belts

Okay my belts came in and the ends clip to the floor. The problems is that the clips do not fit over the heads of the stock floor bolts. Are you guys just using another bolt and washer that will work? What about the crotch strap? Is it worth getting the wolfe bar or just bolting it to the floor?

I now see with the cage, race seat and harness how tight the car is becoming. Adding the helmet and race jacket will add that much more fun to it..

There's enough material on the clip to remove just enough for the stock bolt to go through. Ream it out with a drill bit the same size as the bolt.

This is true. Good luck drilling the hole out. That material is so hard. It took me 45 minutes to drill 2holes out to fit the factory bolts. I also went through 3 drill bits! Use lots of oil.

Forget drilling, it's a huge pain. I took a dremel with a cylinder shaped grinding stone (just barley smaller than the stock hole). It took me 2 minutes to do each one and they came out perfect. I just inserted the bolt until the smooth part hit and marked how much material I had to take off.

I used the Wolfe crotch strap bracket instead of poping a hole in the floor. On the passanger side I just looped it around my Corbeau seat bracket since it will never really be used (wasn't sure if that was legal on the driver's side).

Carefull modifing those clips, if they should fail (the belts) for any reason, they will no longer be warrantied by the manufacturer. Or the sanctioning track (if they choose to do so) can deem them unsafe due to being modified. Any safety equipment that is SFI apporved cannot be atlered in any way, doing so voids the SFI rating spec, leading to the safety part being ruled unsafe. I am not saying this will happen, but it can. Check with your local race tracks to see if they would judge this modification unsafe (as per the rules) or if they will let you slide.
