Harness Help! The car is done and now I am working on the safety stuff. Soon my car will be going in for the roll bar. I know that I am going to need to pick up 2 - 5 point harnesses, but I am not sure which one to go with. I looked on Summit but they had several different types ranging from $60 to $140. What is the difference between the latch, camlock, and so forth... Which one should I go with and why? A local shop has the G-Force harness in stock but I noticed the price was much lower than some of the others. Just trying to get an idea of what I should be looking for. Thanks!
Are you removing your stock seat belts and using the 5 points all the time? Also does your roll bar have mounting brackets? If your using them all the time get cam locks, they are a twist lock or quick release style lock that allow you to put the belts on with just 4 clicks (just plug the belt into teh lock) and undo them all at the flip of a wrist, very nice to have IMO. If your cross bar doesn't have brackets you'll want a "wrap around" style belt. This means that the shoulder belts wrap around the cross bar but the floor bolts still bolt in. With the lap belts you can use the stock seat belt mounting points and stock bolts, you just have to open up the bracket holes alittle with Dremel for the bolt to fit though. With the sub belt, you can bolt it to the floor or pick up a crotch strap bracket from Wolfe. I went with the Wolfe bracket since it's a direct bolt it with the factory seat mounting points. The major price difference in the belts is usually do to the fact that it has a cam lock or standard latch. I would probrably trust all the brand belts that Summit and Jeg's sells. I ended up going with Stroud harness' from Wolfe. 
Get a camlock for sure. Much easier to latch/unlatch. Other than that, get the one that looks best to you and is your price range. I have/had Simpson, G-Force, RJS and RCI harnesses. I personally liked the G-Force or RCI ones the best as far as looks/functionality and price. Simpson is nice too but you pay a lot just for the name.
go with the camlock g force tiff, its what i have. as i recall they make two versions of it,too, the wrap around(what i use) and one for bolting to brackets on the cross bar. its a nice harness. i just bolted my crotch strap to my floor and as GM said used the factory bolts in the side locations after opening up the holes on the harness so those bolts will go through.
one word of advice. if you're gonna keep the factory belts in the car,too. don't use the factory bolt then, you'll want something longer. that bolt is not long enough to safely put the factory belt and the harness in with together. i tried that and first tiem at the track the bolt came out of the floor in the launch on the left side(which has the camlock attatched to it) thus rendering the whole harness useless if something had happened.

Not a huge difference between the harness brands IMHO. I've seen Simpson, RJS and RCI, and it's a pick-em if you took the tags off. I use a standard latch type b/c they get replaced every 2 years at $60 from RJS, or the cam-lock is around $140-160 and same deal (or get them updated/re-certified which means shipping them off and not having them in the car for a few weeks). I don't have a problem with the cam-lock, just like the simplicity of the std latch-style. Mine are bolted to a tab I had welded on the rollbar.

just got with the $60 - $70 one, it works just fine, that is what I used in the '01 and it does the job, that is all that matters. If you are really that worried about it though, you may want to actually look at them in someone elses car if you can, hard to go on worded decriptions.
