Default What's Wrong With My Track Times, Something Doesn't Make Sense!

See sig. for vehicle details.

I took the car to the tarck last Wednesday, 50+ degrees. I ended up running the following times

Pretty much a 12.39-12.45 1/4 time. The real kicker is the 1/8 MPH and the 1/4 MPH. My 1/8 MPH was 88-89Mph. My 1/4 MPH was 110 all day long even when I ran 12.6-12.8. Shouldn't a 12.3-12.4 be faster than a 110 trap speed. I am running a 3:23 rear gear and Eagle F1 tires (275/40/17). My 60' times were between 1.85-1.95 (not to bad for street tires).

So, what can cause the car to pick up only about 21MPH the second half of the track? I was wondering if the person who did the programing of the car didn't put the converter into lockup at any point? It is a small 2800 Stall. The question is what happens if I put a 3800 Stall and a set of Nitto Drags on the rear. Does that get me a 11.9?

Thanks for your help!

Bill

your mpd does seem 2-3 mph slow.the vert & drs should get you close to 11.9 if you get your 60' below 1.7.

I bet if you went with a 3800 Yank you would run closer to a 11.7 if you HOOK.
The 60 ft time will go into the 1.60's or maybe better, your RPM's when you shift will be higher, your mph will be higher and your et much lower.
First you need to hook though.

I also run 88-89 mph 1/8s and 110 1/4s. I figured that my cam is just lowend biased so I picked up alot in the slow end and not too much at the fast end. In your case, I think something different is going on. Something is sapping your upper rpm power.

I was running a 12.3 at 115 mph... N/A with 1.8xxx 60's I had a 1/8 mile time of 8.0's. Just spun when I hit second, track sucked. I should have been well into the 11's with my mph time.

I need to get tires and shocks bad!!

I once had a similar setup and lost 4mph going from a 4400 stall speed to a 3200 stall speed. Sounds like you are not in your powerband.
