60' on street tires

60' on street tires

Quick question. Where is everying dumping off the clutch at or what techique do you use to launch the **** out of it at the strip. My best 60' of the night was 2.2 lastnight on some pretty worn out Falken 275's. I launched it at about 3300-3400. I should be ordering a set of Nitto's this week so if you have any advice on those too, that'd be great. Thanks!

Dont dump the clutch. I'm able to pull consistent 2.0's on bald dry rotted 245/50/16 Goodyear Eagle HP's by riding out the clutch. I launch at about 3000 and ride out the clutch until I'm good and going then I just dump it. Its one of those things that you just have to get good at there's no real way to explain it you just gotta do it.

I've gotten 1.9's, but 2.0's are the norm. I leave the line just above idle.

i just got back from the track today and pulled 2.2-2.3's on a very worn out clutch.i had to baby it off the line to keep the clutch from slipping. also had to shift easy to keep it from slipping. ran a 13.6 @106 .outside temp was 90 degrees. '01 ws6 m6

lol. That isn't bad for that humidity. It was humid at all when I ran and one of the times I had a 2.4

. It was my first time out so it took a little getting used to. The good thing was that my times were lowering everytime and my traps were raising after every run.

I'm pretty sure I had a 1.96 60' on Kuhmo's when I did 12.02@118. It was an automatic. I kind of feathered it 'til it hooked then laid in to it. I think I could have gone 11.99 with a little more aggressive technique.
