Default Popped my drag racing cherry.

I just got back from the track and had a blast. We're at 5000+ ft. here so I wasn't really sure what to expect. My first run which was solo was a 15.159. I ran a few more 15's that night, here's a vid of one of them.

I tried turning the traction control off and boy what a difference! I couldn't believe that I was almost a second faster without it. Wish I had it off when I was racing that STI and Cobra. My quickest time of the night turned out to be a 14.476. Every 14 second run I did I had no traction coming out of the hole and hitting 2nd and 3rd. Everyone basically said at this altitude, you lose a whole second. How are these numbers with my mods? Is tires and traction my biggest issue in not breaking the 13's? There were other mildy modded F-Bods running in the 13's there and I did talk to one of the owners. He had an 01 ws6 with DR's and 4.10's and was hitting 13's. He said he was hitting 14 flat stock. He also told me he runs mid 12's with a hundred shot. One other thing, my fastest run that night, my wife was in the car with me.

Some other numbers.

Best R/T .104
Best 60' 2.331 This has got to be killing me here.
Best 1/8th 9.474
Best MPH 102.47

Yea, traction control is trash...definately leave that crap off when you're at the track. Like you said there is plenty of time to make up with your 60'. I think the general rule is every 1/10th you knock off your 60' is good for 2/10ths in the the 1/4. You're also losing time when shifting and your tires spin. Throw some DR's on there to stop the spinning on your shifts and also lower your 60' and you're easily into the 13's even at 5000+.

Yeah that altitude is a killer. I'm glad you had fun. Sounds like you are hooked now.

Good luck!!!
