Question Roll Cage

Is $40 per point a good price for installing a cage??

yes it is MIG first and then grinded and then TIG on top of that for extra stregnth.

That doesn't sound right. I'm a welder and i've never heard of wel;ding then grinding the weld off and going over it again. That would make it weaker not stronger. You can tack it in with MIG and then weld it in with TIG, but there should be NO grinding. I think thats against an NHRA or IHRA rule.

Yup no grinding per NHRA, If its mild steel it can just be migged in, if it is CM then it has to be Tigged Welded. But I agree with SUX2BU, something doesnt sound right with the way that shop wants to do it. I wonder if they are mig welding it, then going back with a tig and no filler just to make it look like it was tiged in, if so that is a big no-no

then i guess that i need to find a new person to put in my cage. does anybody know of any1 in the ky tn area that is reasonable on prices??
