how should i launch my car??
hey guys i just picked up a 2000 formula a few weeks ago and wasnt sure how to launch my car at the track to get my best results. ok this is what it has. it is a auto with a built tranny and a super yank 4000 stall with a 12 bolt with 3:73 and nitto dr's. it has janzar heads with a tr 224/224 112 cam and jet hot long tube headers no cats and magnaflor catback. it has a few suspension upgrades, like adjustable torque arm and panhard bar, adjustable konis and subframe connectors. what would eb the best way to launch this car without too much tire spin. i have never raced a auto at the track and wasnt sure the best way. i appreciate any input and help. anyone have any idea what u think the car will run??? thanks again guys.

I had a 3500 stall and I kept my foot fairly hard on the brakes, trans in 3rd, not Drive, then I press on the throttle and bring the rpm up to around 2000, then hammer it to the floor, when the appropriate light comes, for some trees it's the last yellow, for a pro tree it's when the yellow's all come on. I only have the stock ten bolt and this usually nets me a 1.6xx 60' With my new SS4000 I still stall it to 2000, but I am just experimenting to find the sweet spot. If your trans is tuned properly, you could stall higher and of course your 12 bolt will take more abuse.
