Default What to choose, what to choose...M6 or A4

Well im getting ready to purchase a LS1 and now im stuck between choosing a M6 or an A4....the car will see PLENTY of track time and not so much street racing (if any), so i wanted to see what other people are running and if they love it or regret it.

both have there +'s and -'s autos goin to give you more consistant results where as the M6's seem a little faster stock for stock. Me personally Love the M6 b/c its fun to drive and puts more on the driver w/ shifting propery not just flooring it for a quarter mile. I had 2 M6 t/a's and have never regreted either of them

Are autos slugish on the street or will a stall fix that problem?

A stall is goin to make it a little slugish on the street at lower RPM's compared to the M6 but shouldnt be that bad

If you're looking for consistency, then the A4 is what you want. It also depends on whether or not you want to row through gears.

I love going to the track.....i dont really street race so im leaning more towards the A4 since the car will see mostly track time. I noticed the A4 seems to dyno less (im guessing more drivetrain loss) so stock for stock are the times pretty much the same (even though the M6 will yield higher trap speeds or what?

ya, but usually an m6 will need more rwhp to meet the times an a4 will hit, thats for when you are getting into lower 1/4 mile times

Mmmm.. you sure? An M6 will put down more whp per mod than an equal A4 will, the only advantage of the A4 I can think of is ease/control at launch since you're not worrying about a clutch to engage.

It's all a matter of preference really. I love the manual, and wouldn't trade it. Not as consistent, but I just love rowing through the gears . From what you're saying however, I think you would be happier with a stalled A4, since you say it will be seeing plenty of track time.
