Default Stock Radiator and Fans

Does everyone keep there stock radiators and fans for racing or do they go to something aftermarket? What are the options? What are the benifits. Was just thinking about it and dont here much about cooling. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated..Jim

The stock radiator is very light and has a very thin core. I would only look into replacing it if you actually need the extra cooling (car overheats or runs too hot) even then there may be other solutions to cooling it down besides replacing the radiator like running straight water/water wetter or providing better ducting to the radiator, etc.. The LT1 radiator is almost the same as the ls1 one except the core is thicker so that is a good solution if you need the extra cooling. Drag cars don't need great radiators since they run for very short periods at a time.

... as for the fans if you want to lose extra weight a single electric fan like the taurus 90-95 fan is lighter and will probably cool just as well or aftermarket dual fans are available that are lighter.
