Default I Have a few ?'s

Why am i running slower? Last year ran a 8.347 @ 84.962 mph with 10 bolt 3.42's and DOT slicks. Went to the track tonight with the new set up,12 bolt w/ 4.11's Dot Slicks and line lock.Tires were at 19.0 left line at 5,000 car felt bogging down in 1st-60'1.903,330' 5.47 and finished up with 8.46 @ 82.83 mph and (8.7,8.5,8.8).I hoping maybe the 4.11's would get me around 8.1 or better. I'm confused.

Are the weather conditions the same between your best run and now? If you ran in good air and you're comparing it to summertime air that's a few tenths right there. How are the 60 foots and launching technique comparing? A 12 bolt is slightly heavier than a 10 bolt and will take a little more power to run, so there are a few things to look at here.

...If your motor bogges you might as well hang it up.

If you bogg the motor thats almost 1sec of time added to your 1/4 mile time if not more. so if the motor boggs just give up and hot lap it.

12 bolts are heavier than the stock 10 bolt. I also hear that they cost about 20 rwhp due to drivetrain loss.

I did not improve at all by installing 411s in my 10 bolt, but it has helped keep me from burning up clutches.
