Default Racing in Nov at Famoso

Pops wants to run his 68 GTO again, last time he ran 12.74 @ 107.58 MPH with somethin like a 1.85 60'. I beat him with a 12.340 @ 111.xx, had hit 112 once that day, but didn't gain any MPH from stock manifolds, and y-pipe with stock cats vs the flowtech LT's and ORY. I had run 12.76 @ 111.xx with yokahama street tires, and 1.95 60', and 12.340 w/MT ET Street Radials on a 1.71 60'. I'm really trying to get the mph up on this baby, not sure if it was conditions or what, but it seemed fast off the line, and slow down the track. I was fighting to run 11.9x NA before installing my T70 rear mount, any suggestions, pops is gonna be doing some tuning, and don't want him neck and neck with me...

Put some engine degreaser in his bottle of VHT j/k of course. Must be nice to be able to spank your pops!

That's cold... He doesn't like that my daily driver beats his... Still working on my 67 bird drag car, shootin for consistent 10.20's this year @ 125 NA on 91 octane. I'm real leary of hammering that 10 bolt and having it come apart. I've got maybe 1500 miles on it since I had it rebuilt, and need a 9"/12-bolt anyway, but would be nice to whip out 1 snake-eye just to say "neener-neener-neener dad" and still get 28 MPG on the highway. He didn't know you had to turn the slicks around after multiple passes, now he does, so I'm sure he'll be close to me with his 60' time and too close for comfort. Should I invest in a dyno tune? The fact that the LT's and ORY made zero difference in MPH is really irritating over stock crap with 90k miles on it. I would imagine I would see 114-115. Any ideas?

You know... I do in fact have the stock LS1 intake on the hog... I might see a MPH or 2 from an LS6 intake and perhaps a couple tenths? I was slipping the hell out of the ram clutch at around 4000k then letting it come in once i was rolling to keep from "banging" the rear. I know I could hit it much harder and the ET Street radials would hook, but not sure if the rear would appreciate it... Not sure what I should do...
