what rpms are good for launching a 01 z28 m6?
what is a good rpm range to be in for launching a 2001 z28 m6 with typical bolt-ons, freebie mods and on street tires(width 275).
Bolts on,
LCA
Lid
Ls6 heads
headers
Exhaust cutout
Pro 5.0 short shift
Pulley
CAI
I’ve been practicing on a non busy country road close to home. I’ve tried launching at 2500 rpms and just spin the tires right into 2nd gear and lower rpms feel like to slow of a launch.
Also is it better to slip the clutch or dump the clutch on launch?
What is the typical rpm range I should be trying?
I ran 12s with street drags, but I cant get street tires to grip…

street tires, i'd say 2grand or below... slipping the clutch a little. dumping the clutch anywhere in the rpm range is going to fry street tires. try slipping a little then letting the clutch completely out THEN going full throttle. worked for me on nittos.... might work for you on wide street tires.
