That "box" will not pass NHRA tech, maybe IHRA. NHRA specifically calls for a metal box, the only non-metallic box approved by the NHRA is the Moroso composite box. I tried using a Taylor relocation battery box and did not pass tech. Any battery must be in an enclosure if there is no bulkhead between the driver compartment and the battery. If you add a metal panel to cover the hatch area and it isolates the driver from the battery area, it will pass.
I'm doin my vette like that.I want to ask you if you only ran the positive cable back and then use a short ground to the frame.I bought a taylor kit and that is how it will install. Its nice to have that extra room up front isnt it.

Yeah, ran a 2ga wire from the switch up to the front and bolted it to the stock wires that bolted into the battery originally, then ran a 2ga wire from the other big post on the switch to the battery. Used a short wire from the batt over to where I saw something else was grounded too, used a wire wheel to bring it down to bare metal for better ground and bolted her down. It'll be nice to have that room, cuz that's where nitro dave's standalone is gonna go when I have the cash to buy it!

I'll take my chances and see what happens for now, for $2.50 and some of my time puttin it together, it's worth a try, if not, then i'll try and find a box that fits there and pick it up, no biggie!
Cause as that wire bounces around it will cut through the insulation on the wire over time and ground out and maybe cause a fire and burn your car to the ground. Grommets are under 1.00 they are well worth the money
Battery cable should be 2 gauge or bigger... just an FYI
Hey man, just wanted to say thanks, I looked a little harder and found a grommet that fit perfect, ended up being a firewall grommet for a chrysler. Not only will it prevent what you stated, but it also looks nicer having it there instead of wires goin through a open bare hole.
Also ran the alt wire to the switch the other day to complete the kill switch and everything works perfect with the 6 ga, so hopefully it'll stay that way.
