Default What does it take to pull the wheels up

Not sure if this is the right area to post but oh well. I was wondering if I put a 12 bolt or 9" in with a 200 shot on an all stock motor with upgraded fuel system. Plus stage 2 clutch if I could pull the wheels up and i mean really pull them up not just twist the car so one wheel pulls up.

either a light weight stock car with traction, or a full weight cam only car. It has been done in 6 speeds many times on a stock rear, but how long will it last is the question. BTW pulling the wheels is for nothing but bragging right, it slows you down.

With a REALLY good suspension it can be done with just bolt ons. ~400 rwhp or more seems to be enough to pull them up on a lot of f-bodies.

I know it slows you down i would like to just be able to do it to show up all my FWD import friends. But do you usually have to leave at like 6000 or can you do it at like 3000

you need to leave at a pretty hefty RPM to pull the wheels up, I wouldn't count on the stage 2 clutch lasting real long doing that though. Slicks or a really good suspension with DOT drag tires and apparently around 400rwhp. Pull up the wheels and watch **** on your car break

Yeah really that is just for bragging rights. I saw a car pull the wheels and still ran a 9 sec pass. Red ta its on the net alot. Still you might wanna lighten the font end. Like relocating battery, bmr kmember A arms. and some light shocks and springs. There was on package that I saw I think with the K member a arms and springs and shocks I think It removes almost 100 lbs from the front end. Ill go search for the links. Ill post them laters.

"A high grip rubber grooved racetrack helps the most".

Along with bigger drag DOT tires or slicks, strong rear end, strong clutch, 90/10 adjustable front shocks with front sway bar removed, skinnies, air bags in rear coil springs or adjustable rear shocks, and a higher RPM launch.

oh, if you just want bragging rights, put about 600lbs in the back of the trunk and then do it. You could get a semi to wheelstand with enough weight past the rear tires.

It dont take much power to do a wheelie. My bro's 5.0 Mustang would yank them good with 28x10 slicks, 4.10 gears and 6k rpm launch. Car only ran mid 12's at 110.

I think a stiff chassis helps lift the car instead of twisting it.

That'll work, just get some real slicks. Suspension stuff also helps. My car lifts with a 1.62 60'

it is enough for awhile but if you continue without a set of bars in the car, it'll twist

Suspension has alot more to do with pulling tires than hp does. It doesn't take alot of power to do it. With skinnies up front and loose suspension a stock longblock ls1 can do it. Of course a sticky tire is mandatory for it. FWIW, even though it's a mustang, I was able to pull the left front on a 17" nitto DR with only a 1.74 60' with 300rwhp. But my suspension is setup for major weight transfer. But it is fun as hell to pull a tire or tires. -Mark

i cut a 1.62 60' and only got only the one wheel off the ground..... granted i'm running a full weight car w/ stock 16" front wheels and tires. torque arm, lca's and front sway bar removed. 28" tall m.t. d.r.'s

the cool thing is that i carried it past the tree

How is this going to impress the fwd crowd? If they were to pull the front tires up, they would lose their power to the road.
