Default 28W ET Drag Fitment

Details about my set up:
1997 Trans Am
9" rear, shortened 3" per side
5" bs on weld alumastars
28W x 10.5 ET Drags
Offset LCAs

Ok, so after reading many other posts, i was figuring on having to do alot of cutting and possibly cutting out the front of the inner fenders. Well to get them to fit and have the proper clearance, all i had to do was cut off the bump stop and then hammer in the front of the inner fender just a little bit. If i had gotten a 4.5" bs wheel, they would have fit with just cutting the bump stop. On the 5" bs, the car is really tucking the tires alot. It looks really good. I'll get some pics for you all next week. If i had went with the 4.5" bs then the tire would have set even with the outside of the quarter panel at the top. Also, i did not have to cut the bumper or the front of the wheel opening. IDK if its just something with the trans ams but back when i had 315s on some 50mm zr1s, they fit without hammering anything and everyone always told me it was impossible for some reason. I just wanted to post up for anyone that was interested in putting the same thing on their car and if anyone wants pics, i will get some next week.

7.5/stock lenghth
5.0/3.0 narrowed....

So yours will tuck in more? If so you will be doing some cutting and clearancing.

My 28w/bogart combo sits out a bit, and I did not need to clearance or cut anymore than I originally did for the 28 drags.

Your combo might tuck in real nice, post up pics.

Here's mine:

Ok, pics attached. I cut the bump stop area off and that was it. Hammered the front a hair and it fit perfectly with enough clearance. The bumper looks like its rubbing in the pics but thats because i did not have it bolted on. It clears good when i line up the push pin holes. It really tucks the tires alot more than i was expecting. From the back, the tire does not even hardly stick out past the rear bumper. You could run a 4.5 bs and still have them tucked in the fender nicely. When i took the pics i had pro kit springs with no isolators in so the car will sit higher when i put the v8 springs back in it. If you want to see some pics of the inner fender i can pull the tires and take some more pics. Let me know what you think.

heres the rear. From strait in the back you can't even see the tire so its from an angle.
