Motor fitment Ok guys so here's the question. I have an 4th gen Camaro. I'm dropping in a carbed SBC with a high rise intake, nitrous plate, and a dominator. Ok so the question is does anyone have experience with this? and wat size hood am I going to need? I just called VFN and they said that the Mike Moran for the LT1 car has a 3 inch height. Will that be enough? How much clearance will that give me? Anyone know the answer to this?
You will need 5" cowl to get the required 2" above the carb.

So basically ur tellin me to look somewhere else for a hood huh? or I'm just stuck with a traditional cowl

Madman where can I even get a 5 inch cowl at? or something even bigger? Cause all I can find is 4 inch?
You will have to make it. Are you looking for a bolt on or a pin on?? My car has a sbc with a 1" spacer with the NOS built in plus a dominator style throttle body and my 4" cowl didnt clear. I took a 8" cowl and cut it down to fit .

Ok kewl that looks kewl as hell, so basically a sponsor like VFN would be able to take care of that for me correct?
Oh and I just want a pin on
Mine is a one off piece. I built it at the shop. If you want a pin on then go to the windsheild and cover the cowl. I dont know if VFN will do it or not. Just ask. All they can say is no. BUT DO NOT copy my hood. I showed you the pics for reference.

LOL dont' worry I'm just going to try and get the Mike Moran hood but for an LT1 for my car or just get a big cowl molded onto a stock hood
And I plan to go to the windshield with it. I just like the look of it, plus with the cowl basicaly cut off on my car for the carb its no biggie
