Ok, I took my 98 T/A to the track tonight to see what she'd run after some of the new parts I had installed. Anyway, I feel pretty good about it, but I would still like to squeeze a little more out of it. Here is the lowdown. My best run was this.....
R/T .517
60ft. 1.944
330ft. 5.535
1/8 8.564
MPH 81.57
I tried to set up the rear suspension as best as I could. BMR weld in boxed subframe connectors, BMR Adjustable LCA's set to 0 toe and 0 thrust angle. BMR adjustable panhard bar use to center rear axle. BMR adjustable torque arm set to -2 pinion angle. Tires are Kumho ECTSA Supra 712's P245/55/R16 with 20 PSI in them. Front tires set to 45 PSI to increase rolling resistance. I have no head work or bigger camshaft. I just have a lid, K&N, SLP smooth bellows, free air box and egr mods, Dynatech Systemaxx header system with a Hooker after cat exhaust 3 inch, stock ECM programming. The transmission is a rebuilt 4L65E from Monster Motorsports with a shift kit, corvette 1-2 and 2-3 shift solenoids, and a TCI Street Fighter 3000 stall converter. It pulls pretty good, but I think that my rear end gear is the limiting factor. It has the 2.73 posi rear in it. Now, I know that a 3.42 or even a 3.73 gear would be ideal, but I like the gas mileage I get with the 2.73's and let's face it gas isn't getting any cheaper. So is there anything that I can do besides N2O/heads/cam/gears to get into the 8.40-8.30 range with a better say 1.8xx 6o ft. time? Any thoughts/suggestions are welcome. Thanks for your time, Paul Moore

So, you are saying that all I need is a good set of DR's and that the lower 60ft. time will make up the .2-.3 tenths? So, if I'm cutting a 1.94 60 ft. time right now, and use the DR's to get down to a say 1.74 60 ft. time, I should expect to see my ET drop by .2 tenths?

I went from 2.0 60' to a 1.7 60' with a 3000 stall and Nitto DRs.
That 3 tenths turns in to 5 tenths in the 1/8th which is about how much you will see in the quarter.
My friend and I have the SAME setup power wise...He is on street tires and I am on DRs. I beat him by 5 tenths in the 1/8th...

Tuning, tuning is everything, need to Auto Tap to ensure what is going on with your tune!
1st turn off all TQ management,
2nd raise your shift points so it will shift by MPH between 6200 and 6300,
3rd raise your timing to 28
4th zero out your all block in the IAT vs. Load timing table
Last you need tires, MT DR are the way to go for your verter.
