Default Short Belt

I got a short belt part number off of here for a gates belt to by-pass the PS pump. I tried to put it on last night at the track but it was too short. I'm not sure if that was the right belt or not.

did you also bypass the idler pulley under the ps pump? and do you have a stock crank pulley? maybe you got the ASP short belt.

Well, I'm having nothing but problems with this mod. LOL The new belt is long enough but when I by-pass the idler pulley that puts the belt resting on the head of the bottom alternator bolt, and the transmission line mount. Is this a M6 mod only?

you have to remove that bolt. or you can take it out and cut a chunk of the bracket off and reinstall the bolt with some washers. just enuff to clear the belt. you need washers cause the bolt doesn't have enuff threads to go all the way in with out washers. and you should be able to bent the lines out of the way.

Yea, I removed the lines and the bolt was out too far in the way, so you are saying to shim the bolt head out pass the belt right?

no. either take the bolt out when putting the belt on OR you can pull the whole alternator bracket off the car and cut off the first part of the bracket that the bolt in question goes thru. so when you put it all back together the bolt doesn't go thru the bracket-alernator-bracket-block. it goes thru the alternator-bracket-block.
But the bolts threads don't go long enuff. the threads will bottom out before it tightens down so either put some washrs on it or get a bolt with more threads on it.
