I am very interested in trying a high dump now since it seems everyone is doing them. I wish I had the rear end in it now. I KNOW its going to cream the 10bolt if I do it now though...I can FEEL it. Remember, it already has 4.10s in it so.. that pinion going to be a gonner.

don't know what the deal is.. i'm guess 60' is where it's at. i was running 1.8-1.9 60' times on factory sized nitto drag radials. the car was a bolt on m6 with a 4.10 gear and stock '99 ls1 intake and t.b. it ran 12.5 at 112. if i had better tires that i could launch harder with then it would have been a little quicker. cam........ 11's. so i'd say work on your 60' and/or driving skills.

Don't you dare do a high RPM dump on that 10 bolt. Don't listen to these jokers. As I have shown you, you should be turing better times even with a low RPM launch.

Good your finally seing the light. Even though the 10 bolt is pretty weak. if this isn't your only car i would take it to the track with some slicks on a trailer and dump the **** out of the clutch. Sometimes these rears can handle some abuse before obliterating.

Good advice from a stock internal, high stall auto, gutted car almost 8 hundred pounds lighter then you.I know you want to not believe it but your car is down on power and you need more practice at the track to get good times. It takes time to figure out launching these cars and a high RPM dump with a 10 bolt/4.10 will get a spin or a flatbed ride home.

Let me drive that biatch and let's see what it'll do! You know I'm the most righteous jockey! Seriously, I too was thinking timing. I'd jack it back up to 28 also. It still sounds like's it kinda spongy though. You'd think the 4.10 woulda really turned that bitch loose at the track. Hopefully you'll get it worked out and you can show me how. I might would try preloading the clutch a tad before you drop the hammer at 5 grand. I've seen lots of stock 10 bolts go 1.7s with slicks forever. You just can't shock it too hard. Weather is just starting to get really good now for those really good mph's. My local track just closed up so I may have to come down there and reset my world record. LOL

Hey Mr. Knowitall. i used to be 3600 lbs, cam only, M6, 3.73 ten bolt rear dropping the clutch at 5k rpm's. she lasted ALOT longer than you think.
can it break on the first pass? Yes. Will it? You never know.

Apparently not many people know how to drive these m6's. That's probably the top contributer. Me included. I'm looking at switching to a TH350.

What part do you consider unanswered? Did you re-dyno? Did you autotap to see if you had KR? It's pretty clear that you are running slow, even considering your launch technique.

Before you feel too bad I think I feel your pain
R/T .705
60' 2.007
330 5.516
1/8 8.367
MPH 87.98
1/4 12.818
MPH 112.22
No clutch dumping, spins through second and I shift at 6200 RPM, Not my only car, but I am not swimming in money to fix either. Everyone is telling me I am WAY below potential. I see almost stock cars beating me, and you don't even have heads!!!! But you may not have the 2 twelves, and the box either.
As for your rear end, I do not know how it is holding together....after my mods, I NEVER dumped the clutch, never raced on the 10 bolt, and the only tire spin I got was from 30 MPH plus, I toasted 2 rearends in 6 days just from downshifting on the highway. I got the moser and the above listed time was on that, and after the run....that howls now.
I am told over and over again to get slicks and launch harder. I know something is going to break that I gotta fix.....on the highway the car squats, the front end yanks, and it feels great..... I may get slicks for next season, but for now I am not letting the times get me down. I spoke with someone about launching, his clutch lasts 4 runs....my last clutch had 60,000 miles on it.....So I am fairly fast, and I may last a little longer....good luck

Its all in the driver. There is no reason for a cammed car to be trapping less than 115, and ETing in the mid 12's.

By no clutch slipping, I meant I do not ride the clutch, basically I start off slow until clutch is hooked, then go(I mean spin). My last stock 98 clutch had 60,000 miles on it with the stock slave, the only reason I replaced it was, well it sucked, but I needed syncros in the tranny, So while tranny was out, I put in new clutch. My old clutch still had life left on it. Yes I baby it! I also shift at 6200 RPM. I have been told to shift at 6700 RPM
I am sorry, but I hear over and over again how my car is slow, and WAYYYY down on power. Yet I DESTROYED 2 rearends, I mean the magnet looked like a chia pet after 3 days (like 40 miles) with not a single clutch dump, speed shift, or smokeshow, and this car will PLANT you into the seat and hold you there. I also ran 14.5 @ 102 with my girlfriend in the car shifting at 4500 RPM and I went into 5th (she had no helmet cannot go below 14.00 ET). The car runs the *****, I mean I can smoke third, and I get 4th chirps!!! Should I try another dyno place? If I dump the clutch at 4,000 RPM off the line the tires will melt, or now my new problem the rearend will hop.
I would like to add that I am not a total idiot, I own a shop that does alot of performance work, along with a fleet of muscle cars. I reasearched a fair amount before buying and building. I wanted 800 HP 200 MPH with a smooth idle and reasonable cost, since this was not going to happen, the compromises set in. My car is quiet, idles smooth, HAS ALL LEGAL EMMISIONS and still gets 22 MPG. Anyone wishes to solve my low HP problem? I am not proud, I do not know it all. Come on and fix it......Sorry I am bitchy but $5000.00 + and all I hear is how slow my car is. My driving, ya....I take it easy, but I want the car to last.
