Default Bracket Racing

Well... This Friday/Saturday I got into my first ever Bracket event..

the close to none expierence and the stupid idea to lower tire pressure on the same index owned me/// long story.. they got me out on the second round

I would really thank some advice from experienced Bracket Racers, like DA changes and such?

Thanks for any advice...

The key to bracket racing is consistency which you found out when you changed your setup.Do everything the same every run from burnout to launch through the traps.Don't try for your best time try to find a comfortable run and stick with it.I can run really good times launching at 2600 rpms but it's hard to hold it at that on the line, and sometimes I spin.So when I want to be consistant I launch at 2000 rpms,it's alot easier to maintain and I always hook.Keep track of what times you run throughout the night and record as much as you can, track temp, air temp, and DA.This is basically what i did this year and won the track championship. And as far as I know every 1000 ft DA is worth 1/10th and 1 mph.

Good read, thanks Tom...

From what Jake says.. I still have the stock converter so i didn't even bothered trying to click the same rpms on all runs..

But what when i got my stall, keeping the same RPMs always would be kinda hard.. I guess a 2 step would have some use here, but since harlan ones, is there any other?

hey Jake the SSnake what track you race out of???

As far as this topic gose Jake SSnake said it, keep records. The key to haveing a consistant car is partly car set up and driver. Dooing the same routine over an over. But it comes down to notes an records to know how your car will react to weather changes as the night/day gose on. For me I have 3 years of data to look back on for my car and mine is still stock and has been very consistant even for a manual car.

amen brother. Thats the fool proof way to run consistant. Everything the same from pass to pass and keeping a data sheet. I jot down data on my time slips. I pin them up on my cork board in my trailer. I refer to them alot. Stuff I jot down is:

1. wind? head, tail, or cross.
2. DA from my TAG.
3. Track temp.
4. tire pressure
5. Shock settings
6. Launch RPM

I use the TAG weather station as backup.

Chopping the tree helps too

AND DON"T CHANGE STUFF ON RACE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
