Default How to heat up slicks?

I just got a set of slicks and was wondering the proper way to heat them up. Do you roll through the water or spin them in the water? Also my cars a M6 so whats the best way to start spinning the tires w/out screwing up my clutch? Know alot of this is stuff you have to learn from experience but would like to have an idea of what to do before I go...

roll back into the water, get some water on them, then roll forward, then spin them. with the manual just drop the clutch at a higher rpm in first and it should do the trick

Get a line lock......you will likely fry your clutch w/o one.

My clutch is still stock... Would there be a good way of going about heating them up, Going Friday so I wont have time to get a line lock. Any suggestions or would I be better off not heating them up?

some people although I would not like to do it pope the clutch in first or 2nd and then hit the brakes so it kinda acts like a line lock except you are wearing on your rear break pads.

I've always dumped in second w/o a linelock.
If they're new tires, they need to heat cycle thru 2-3 burnouts, so make them count.

The guy it the pits at Island Dragway told me to get my rear tires in the water and do a quick spin in to get the whole tire wet. Then roll out of the water and do the burnout (I do it in 2nd gear and have a linelock)

It's not the clutch you will fry, it's your rear brakes that takes the damage when coming out of a 'powerbrake'
