I've owned an LT1 before but NEVER again. Luckily back then i wasn't into wrenchin on cars yet.
VIPRETR2: Why even risk it? Just run the 3.5 skinnies and if the LT1 brakes are smaller you might be able to get away with not grinding anything and no spacers. the 3.5 have WAY better clearence so i can't understand why anyone would run the 4".
I would NEVER put any spacers on any car i owned with stock studs. seen a couple of wheels fall off because of this.

.
Maybe you just got a lemon. I love my LT1 car. I've dynoed 410 RWhp with a 218 degree duration cam. That is comparable to most LS1s. The only failure I've had in 11 years is the CD player. HONESTLY!

Also, with the Centerline Convo Pros and Telstars 4-inchers I haven't had to use any spacers or grinding whatsoever. But with the Weld 3.5inchers I had to use a 3/8" spacer.

Yeah, I hear ya. Especially the passenger side header and the whole AC compressor/power steering pump mount nightmare.
