bullets after collectors????
i currently run FLP headers, cut-out, and stock cat back......
i was thinking of just bolting a pair of bullets to the collectors....
figured id save about 50-70 pounds and maybe gain a few rwhp?
so which muffler would gain the most HP and be the quietest?
and ideas?

Maybe for track days unbolt the catback and bolt on some extensions w/ dynomax bullets? I have used a 5" borla XR1 round muffler before and it's quieter but I doubt you could fit two under a camaro.
If you seriously want to shave weight and still drive it a lot think about a lightweight single exhaust like running a single 3" pipe all the way back with a bullet muffler where the old catback muffler is. You can then get rid of the heat shields too then and it will be ok for the street. On my RX7 I used a stainless catback that's 80mm (3.125") and it only weighed 17#'s. The y-pipe probably added another 15#'s so the weight penalty wasn't that bad and I can actually hear myself think and don't have to deal with the fumes. I think the aluminized exhausts may be the lightest. The stock muffler is heavy!
EDIT: At least if you are going to run bullets aim them towards the side of the car or down.. it will cut down on the fumes/noise in the car. I had shortys+stock cats dumped like that and when I added the turn downs/outs it was a lot better in the car.
I thought about doing so myself. I know a bunch of people that run mufflers off teh collectors and leave it at that, usually they just use a bullet and dump it.. but it is loud, outside and inside the car
I think a xr1 with a dump would be o.k., if you can tuck it up under the car, not sure what the dia. of the outside of one of those is.
