Default Madman Rack install question

Do you put any kind of oil in the rack, because when i move the steering back and forth it makes a really loud grinding sound. If you do put oil or something in there, what type is recommended?

Also a second part to this question. How do you connect the steering shaft to the part that comes out of the firewall. The stock set up goes over the part that comes out of the firewall. This set up is the same size as the part coming out of the firewall so it can neither go over or inside.

Mine didn't make any noises.

It's difficult to explain on the top connection, but it's kinda like a press-fit. From what I remember, there were some small plastic tabs that held it in place. This is done so that in case of an accident, the column/steering shaft will collapse, rather than impale you. With the rack mounted to the k-member, the shaft shouldn't go anywhere.
