Coil Relocation locations
Coil Relocation locations Looking for different ways to relocate the coils. has anyone mounted them in a different location than underneath the cowl?

I mounted mine on the frame rails, had to delete the ABS unit on the drivers side, and the AC and the traction control motor on the pass. side. All of that stuff was gone a long time ago. I've got some pics but there too large to upload to the site, i could send them to ya if you want them.

I've read and heard that the further you bring the coil away from the motor, the more current you loose. Kind of like when you run too much extension cord when you use a power tool and the tool seems weaker. The shorter the plug wires the better. Can some one verify this?

Wat your saying seems true. If you think about it. More wire equals more resistance which equals less current flow in the end
I've got mine mounted under the cowl. I wish I had photos available. I made the brackets out of all-thread and 1/8" polished aluminum strip. Since the harness is so close to the stock location it didn't need splicing/extending.
