Default stay with fast 90 /90 or

go to the carb style fi.im really thinking about going over to the carb style fi intake..now heres the deal i shift my car at 7200 sometimes close to 7400...this is a stock 346 cam only motor...im looking for nothing but track numbers..car has a 5500 8 inch converter th 350 4.56 rear end. leaving off the trans brake...and weighs in the high 2700's with me in it..do you think its worth selling my fast 90 to go with this intake...also can i use my nw throttle body or do i have to get the accufab 90 for the 5.0...thanks for the help..forgot to say im running the t rex cam

I love fuel injection, so I would say stick fi and go to a sheet metal. But it might be less $$$ to go with the carb.

It will net more power from 5000 and up over the fast intake. You will lose low end tq, but, like fireball and myself, both gonna be running the victor jrs, you will not see the loss of tq b/c the motor is going to stay in the upper rpms due to gearing/converter size. I have the same exact setup as you, with the exception of my car weighing 2900. I am going to be using the NW 90mm tb and an elbow. I am still unsure on which yet. I will post up my results of my own testing with this setup.

you know...if you buy from summit, you can order the intake and fuel rails separately. They are both in stock

EDL-3638 for the rails
EDL-29085 for the intake

works out to be 10 bucks cheaper that way too

How close are you to getting this fitted? I think I am going to try and run a Holley 1000 CFM square bore TB. Need to work out the cowl clearance. Good thing I have and know how to use a cutoff wheel.

the manifold is on the motor, but i don't have a tb or elbow yet. I have a 4in cowl hood, and was gonna run the square bore tb, but you have to cut the cowl all the way to the windshield, and I don't want to do that. Plus, I think it would be overkill for my setup. That is why I am sticking with a standard style 90mm tb.

From what I have seen there is a little trimming on the cowl but not that much. Guess I will find out.

You don't have to use the stock style T/B if you don't want to. I'm running a GMPP carbed style intake with an old school Compucar plate and a Wilson carb style T/B with 4 butterflies. If you ever intend on running a big shot of N20 carbed style is a good way to go.

I say try it! If you lose power, dont post the results and sell it! I am considering the same setup. 347 forged, H/C. N/A. Sold my 78MM LSX and about bought the 90/90. Just waiting on some real world results. If this thing is on par with a 90 I will buy it but if it loses power I will be like everyone else and go 90/90.
