Default Anyone use line lock to launch?

Just want to see if people have tried it and if you can get good results. I have not installed mine yet but once I do I would like to try using it for more than burn outs. I usually brake stall up to 3000rpm and then release the brakes and floor it. It seems like it's hard to time the brake release just right without breaking the tires loose when I hit it. I would think using the LL to release the brakes might make it a little more consistent. Any thoughts?

What are you trying to accomplish by stagging with the line lock? If you are attempting to rev-up at the line with the line lock and no brakes, it will be worse. This is due to the rear brakes now not assisting in holding the tires from breaking loose when you rev up the engine. If you plan on flashing the converter, then using the line lock to hold the car at the light may be beneficial. Although most (quality) tracks are leve at the starting line. Here is a bit of advice ... when you launch, give yourself a delay before you actually hit the gas. This give you time to release the brakes and start moving with the applied throttle, then accelerate gradually to minimize spinning the tires. This is the technique I use with my 2001 Camaro SS.

Yeah, thats how I have been trying to do it. It worked with the stock gears but once I changed to 3.73s, it just seemed as soon as I would start giving it more gas the bfg DRs just wouldn't hold. Hopefully my new 27" hoosiers will help. I would love to be able to just flash it off the line but I guess I will have to try it to find out. I was just looking for some other options to try. Thanks for the help.

Or, hook up another line lock on the rear brakes to hold the car on the line.
