Someone mentioned something about the bends AROUND the dash instead of thru might not be legal but this cage is from Chris Alstons' chassisworks and Chris Alston Jr is a friend of mine... i can't see alstons selling something that wouldn't be legal. here's the pic....
You're ok in front of the dash for your cage.

They didn't cert Jay Johnson's cage because it looked like that. They said it had to many curves in it. Maybe it will but I don't know. At any rate that sucks cause you have to cut the cage to get the dash out.

The 10 point cage in front of the dash is legal. Though I wont build them that way. You cant get the dash out, and you have no feet protection. The 10 point is legal to 8.50s.

so is this legal to 8.50's?

some of us are limited by funds and what kits are out there.
and 8.50's are fast enough for me for a while.
what would you do for feet protection?

That cage is legal for 8.50s. As long as you run the cage thru the dash you will be fine.

When I checked last, Wolfe does not make a 25.2.

25.2 is going to be tough to buy pre-bent and notched. It's all custom stuff. You could get a full chassis kit, but I doubt anybody has a 25.2 kit.

We may be coming out with a 25.2 kit later this year. It will all depend on if the jigs are doable. I have some ideas on how to make everything work, but won't know for sure until i get to it.

I ran the #1 bar above the floor in one piece. I notched the tunnel and ran it thru there. Running it under the car puts the torque arm and driveshaft in the way.

Dan, we just finished installing your 25.5 cage in our car, we added a few things for extra strength, weight transfer, and wheel stands but it still does not have near the bars in the back half of the car as Madman's does, did something change or are we covered on the 25.5?

Mark:

That is still in debate with NHRA. That is conflicting paper work as to what is required for the 25.5 rear bars.

Seems as if NHRA and SFI got some things confused with the 25.4 spec when they did the 25.5 spec.
