Default DR question:

Anyone know if Nittos bite better new, or after significant tread wear? What's the consensus?

As long as mine had a good amount of heat in them, my 60' times where pretty consistant whether they where fairly new or close to being junk.

I can't tell any difference. Put some heat in them and they work pretty well.

I had one set of nittos. They were on my car for an honest 3 miles. I sold them 1 week later. I can say that new they never hooked for myself.

Nitto's don't hook at all for me on the track, street, or otherwise. They might work better for you though because you aren't making huge low-end torque like I am. I like to use the big Hoosier 335/35/17 Drag Radials now. Those bad boys hook like nothing else for me, no matter where I'm driving. Anyways, all take it easy.
