Default Strange or Moser

Need to replace the 10 bolt with a 9 inch.We are running about 410 hp n/a with a dual nozzle kit jetted at 150. I only want to do this once so I am looking for a setup that is good right out of the box. Have heard some talk about issues with the Moser center section being set up wrong from the factory and was wondering if it would be better to have the strange center section. This is a track only car.
Thanks
Alan

I think that is what most people are doing, running a Moser housing with strange center section. At least that is how mine is setup. I bought mine from Billingsley had no problems whatsoever and the price was as good if not better than anyone else I checked.

My .02 is to get the Strange. I ordered mine from SJM Manufacturing...A sponser------>

It came full assembled ready to bolt into the car and the customer service was great. Plus it was a bit less expensive than the Moser.

i think strange is by far a superior product (and yes i own a moser). cost a tiny bit more but do your research and if you equiped your moser the same the price difference is nill.

Well, the question is: should I buy a Camaro or Firebird????? It is the same as Moser vs Strange as far as durability and strength.
That being said, I ordered a strange 12 bolt, for a few reasons. First I don't think there is a better race brake out there then Strange (I am setting my Trans Am now for race only) so I had them added, second I got it through Steve, the president of SJM Manufacturing Inc (A site sponsor here) when I ordered my Bogart race wheels.
KILLER DEAL and Steve is extremely sharpe on this stuff and will bend over backwards to help you, even if you aren't buying. I talked to him in Dec 05 about wheels and rearend knowing I wasn't ready to buy yet and he was very helpful. (Just ordered them yesterday, oh, I did the math on Weld Aluma Stars and Moser rearend vs Bogart and Strange rearend, you need to do it and I know what you will go with)
Good luck on the build.

Although very strong, Ford differentials will always show larger horsepower "losses" than most other differentials because the pinion is located at the bottom of the ring gear, instead of close to the center like all 12 bolts. The 12 bolt is plenty strong enough and fits easier in late model Fbody.
