Default Launching on street tires...

Tomorrow will be my first time at any track, goin to ATCO.

My 99Z has pretty ,uch all the bolt-ons. I also have a 3400/2.1 Fuddle and a tune. When my tires are worn i'll be getting some nittos or something. My question now is how should I launch this car on strret tires?

should I flash at all? just hop on iot and let the tires burn with ASR off? should I leave ASR on and hop on it? or should I try to feel my way???

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well the way I do it is I bring the rpms up a little, probably between 1500 and 2000 rpm on the footbrake and then ease my way into wot. Depending on how it feels, I come out a little harder each time, it takes a few runs to get used to street tires again, but i've cut a best of a 1.79 so far and if I go one night and can make 3 or 4 runs on 'em, i'm sure I could do a little better. As for flashing it, I wouldn't do it, it'll hit the tires too hard and they'll definately spin and make sure you don't have traction control on, that **** sucks!

Too be honest, even though they're street tires, they will still hook better at the track than they will on the street. I blow the **** out of my street tires no matter what I do on the street, yet at the track, I can hook 'em pretty good.

Heat'em up and when you get to the line. Stall it up,when the 3rd yellow light comes on,let off the brake and firmly squeeze the throttle to the floor. Dont stomp it or youll spin like hell. Just steadly and firmly squeeze in down. And youll be fine. Good Luck
