Default madman manual rack rubbing

I had a manual rack installed and it is now rubbing the inside of my rims when you turn in either direction. It usually happens once you get close to the end of the rims travel. I am running stock size rims up front with 245 50 16" tires.

Has anyone else had any problems with this rack rubbing and is there a way to adjust this?

The rack is designed for skinnies on the front. It is a drag car setup.

Well mine is a race car with stock rims. I have no desire to put skinnes up front. So you may want to let people know up front that with the purchase of your rack they also need to buy new rims and tires.

What is the largest tire/rim combo I can run on the front with this rack?

I have a debaged formula that I am going for a stealth look. Skinnes don't look stealthy.

I am building a 10 sec Formula that looks like a firebird for stealth reasons. There is nothing like getting next to a exotic or a rich guy with his Vett etc and destroying him with a car that they wouldn't look twice at.

well sell the rack i have no idea why you would buy a $550+ rack to save 15 hp from the acc drive when you could have just added more power

there will be nothing stealth about a 10 sec firebird it will sound like a fast car unless your going stock motor and exhaust with all spray to get there

also after you did beat them they will think wtf does he have those ugly wheels on that car lol

You can hear the cam with the cut out closed but it does not look are sound as fast as it will be when I am finished. I was trying to due at lot of weight reduction in areas a casual look won't give away, and to the untrained eye they would never know anyway. So manual steering rack saved weight and freed up extra power. Seemed like a win win plus the power steering had went out and needed to be replaced as well. So that made it a win, win win. LOL

I never expected anyone to put my rack on with big front tires and wheels. All I can tell you is not to turn the wheels so far. I havent measured wheels for fitment except for the skinnies.

i just had the same problem with the AJE manual rack. but i bent both tie rods and then broke one and that was just pushing the car onto the trailer. it has never run or driven with the manual rack. my rack is messed up some how internal also, it alows the wheels to turn independent of each other even when they are locked down with the lock nuts. i neve knew i had to have skinnies in the front and they never reasponed to my email about the bolt in the spindle hitting the inside of my wheel. live and learn, just wish the lessons weren't so expensive.

Mine works it is just when ever you have to make a turn that is close to full travel of the steering it rubs. Unfortunately you do not know when it is too far until it starts to rub so I am thinking it will eventually cause major problems. It is eating up th outer edge of the inner ring on the rim. The best part is the people who put it on knew my tire set up before they started.
