Default Whats needed to run fast on stock internals?

I'm looking around and seeing a lot of guys running 11's on stock internals. What is needed to do this? I have a 98 LS1 going in to my 78 Monza. I have 3.73's, a 3000 stall convertor, no front sway bar and 90/10 shocks. On the old 355 I had a 1.80 sixty foot but the fuel pump wasn't working right so I only went 13.00's at 109. It hooks pretty good so that'll help. It's also going to weigh under 2800 lbs with me in it. So what would it take for me to run 11's with a 98 Camaro LS1?

Thanks,

Bill

What he said, +

Full bolt-ons, and a custom ram air set-up. Search this forum, there are many threads about different set-ups.

Should not be hard at 2800 or less pounds.

It's all in a good setup. I don't even have all the bolt-ons yet, and I've already gone 11's. I plan to get even deeper in with some more parts and weight reduction.

In a monza that should run 11s with very little work as those cars are light to begin with. But like they are saying do the bolt ons with a 3600 or 4000 stall, and susp so she hooks and you should be there. Add a 150 shot and go 10s

Why stop at 11's. Do the heads, cam, long tubes. Add a TNT wet system on. You'll only need 100 shot to go into the 10's. Mid 10's 150 shot. Low 10's or 9's on a 200 shot Been there done that.

Thanks guys, I'll do a custom ram air and some skinnies up front. I can lose an easy hundred pounds off the front and a few other places. Wait4me (jesse) did my tune and harness and I heard nothing but good things about his work. I have to get some good headers made then do heads, cam and nitrous. I'll need a cage after that.

Thanks,

Bill
